Le Méridien’s Unlock Art Program

I just got back from vacation in Spain. While in Barcelona, my husband and I stayed at the Le Méridien (thank you SPG Amex for the free nights!) right of La Rambla. The brand is very modern and culturally atuned, and as such, the hotel launched a collective partnership with leading cultural centers to encourage guests to explore the best of each destination. As part of Le Méridien’s Unlock Art program, we got two free passes to the Contemporary Art Museum of Barcelona (MACBA) which I LOVED. They had a great Rita McBride exhibit while we were there. It’s right around the corner from the hotel, and the interior reminded me architecturally of the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. I of course was excited to see the works of artistic masters such as Gaudi, Miró, Picasso, and Dalí, but Barcelona also has some truly great Contemporary Art as well that shouldn’t be missed.

In addition, the Méridien had enacted the LM100 Artist-Created Keycards program, in which artists from around the world created exclusive artworks for the hotel keycards. The three artists being featured in Barcelona were Hisham Bharoocha, Yan Lei, and Sam Samore. If you get a chance to stay at a Le Méridien in the future, be sure to utilize the chance for a free cultural experience!
