Kerry Washington nailed it on every stop of her Django Unchained press tour. She continued to take risks into award season, and her adventurousness paid off, landing her at the top of best-dressed lists week after week (she was one of my favorites at the Golden Globes; if you missed that post, you can read my full recap here).
While Washington knows how to rock bright colors and pushes the envelope with vibrant patterns, she always looks stunning in white. Below are a few of my favorite KW looks from the past year, and not surprisingly, many of them come in variations of my choice neutral hue.
In Giles at the
In Ralph Lauren at an event for the designer
In Peter Pilotto
In Stella McCartney at the American Music Awards
In Rodarte at the SAG Awards
In Louis Vuitton, at a Berlin photo call for Django Unchained
In Donna Karan at the Keep a Chile Alive Black Ball (*this may be from a few years ago, but I just love everything about it)
While sister Cara definitely had quite a year in 2012, modeling in the biggest runway shows, starring as the face of numerous ad campaigns, and being named model of the year at the British Fashion Awards, my style obsession lies with the older Delevigne. She can transition from street style to boho chic to glitz and glam so effortlessly, all the while making the look her own. This natural beauty was one of my favorites to watch in 2012 and I expect a lot more from her in 2013.
One of my favorite looks. Topshop pants
How many people do you know who can pull off cat ears? In Chanel.
There are a lot of beautiful Kate’s out there in the Hollywood/fashion world, all equally stylish (think: Moss, Winslet, Bosworth, etc.). But Ms. Beckinsale has been looking absolutely stunning lately! Aside from the fact that she is gorgeous, she also has great fashion sense, stunning in everything she wears. She has been hitting the press circuit for Total Recall in the most envious ensembles. Let’s take a look back at some of her best outfits…
Most recently, in Donna Karan at the Total Recall Premiere
Stunning in Marchesa
in Gucci Premiere at Cannes, 2010
a little more casual in a purple jumpsuit at the 2012 Film Independent Spirit Awards in 2012
My girl crush on Rachel Bilson began in middle school, as I glued myself to the TV on a weekly basis to watch the drama unfold on “The O.C.” Sadly, I secretly miss the real life romance of Summer and Seth (Adam Brody). While I cannot force myself to watch her show on the CW (no offense to anyone who does – it’s just not my cup of tea), I love keeping up with what she is wearing. Her style is feminine, playful, and fashion-forward, and her petite frame lends itself to almost every silhouette. She frequently dons Chanel, and when Karl approves (he also photographed Bilson for the Magnum ice-cream ad last year and directed a few short films for the brand with her in the starring role), you know you have a good thing going!
Jessica Alba has incredible fashion sense (well, both she and her stylist do). If I ever look half as good as she did while pregnant I will consider it a victory. The fact that she can look so polished and put together while toting around two young children is beyond me. I probably won’t even remember to brush my hair when I am taking my kids around to appointments (maybe that’s what the fedora is for?) But seriously, whether she is in casual, errand-running attire or a glam red carpet ensemble, she never ceases to look stylish. Don’t you agree?
Chanel Fashion Show, 2012
In Lanvin at Paris Fashion Week, 2012
In Gucci, at a store opening in Paris
In Ralph Lauren, at the Met Ball 2011 (while preggers!)
Just carrying around her baby, looking fabulous as usual!
Emma Stone is definitely having a moment. She looks stunning on the cover of Vogue’s July issue, absolutely adorable the cover of New York Magazine’s new summer issue, and Vogue UK has just released their August cover, featuring – who else? – Ms. Stone. As she continues to dazzle on the red carpet while promoting her movie The Amazing Spider-Man, I thought we’d take a look at some of her best media tour looks.
In Chanel at the L.A. premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man
In Carven in New York promoting The Amazing Spider-Man
In Andrew Gn at the Berlin premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man
In Elie Saab at the London premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man
In Jason Wu at the Rome photocall for The Amazing Spider-Man
In Pucci at the Moscow premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man
Zoe Saldana killed it at the CFDA Awards in a sexy cutout dress by Prabal Gurung. Admittedly, the girl could look good in a garbage bag, but I am always her biggest fan when she graces the red carpet. I already raved about her outfit at this year’s Met Gala, but a few additional favorites are below!
In Prabal Gurung at the CFDA Awards, with the designer
In Calvin Klein at the 2010 Costume Institute Gala
In Elie Saab at the 2011 Latin Grammy Awards
In Balmain at the Columbiana premiere
Showing some leg: in Dolce & Gabbana at the 2011 Independent Spirit Awards, in Louis Vuitton at an Amfar Gala for Fashion Week, and in Prabal Gurung i at the Star Trek premiere in Berlin
I have always admired Diane Kruger’s style, and am convinced she can take any fashion risk and make it work. As a juror at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, she had the (daunting) task of dressing for 15+ red carpet events. And yet, every outfit she wore was absolutely stunning (starting with the Giambattista Valli Couture gown she donned at the Opening Ceremony) and perfectly suited for the event she was attending. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that she often accessorizes with a hot red carpet date, boyfriend Joshua Jackson (whom, I might add, I have had a crush on since his Mighty Ducks days). Below is an edited selection of some of my favorite looks… the editing of which took up much of my morning!
In Giambattista Valli Couture at the Moonrise Kingdom premiere and Opening Ceremony
In Chanel at the amfAR gala
In Nina Ricci at the Killing Them Softly premiere
In Prabal Gurung at the Nights in Monaco gala (with Mr. Jackson – see how he adds to the outfit!?)
